Gift Guide: Favorite Small Businesses to Shop With

With Halloween over, everyone is starting to gear up for the holidays that are on the horizon. The pandemic has made many things a bit hard this year and small businesses have seen such an impact from closures and customers staying home. Shopping local this season is so very important. Keep those businesses alive. They are the ones that support local teams, charities, and fundraisers. Do your part and take care of them!

Since moving to Kansas City, I have found some great local shops that I am excited to use for my Christmas shopping destinations this year, but there are always some great online shops and ones back home that I will always go back to for great holiday gifts. I have put together this great list of places to shop this holiday season.

Shops local to KC:

This store carries thoughtful merchandise with great stories and meanings of faith behind them. If you are shopping for a believer, this is a beautiful store to do so at! Check them out online if you aren't local to the area. They have a great selection there as well.

This is great boutique located in Liberty. With two levels, there is so much product to see for all ages and price points. They carry a great variety of styles and even have some super cute merchandise for Chiefs fans!

An amazing home decor shop located in Liberty Square. They have such unique decor along with a fun selection of kids items. They have started to put out their Christmas decor and I am loving the unique beaded ornaments that they have in stock!

The location closest to me is connected with an amazing spin studio, Cycle of Heart. They have a great array of styles and price ranges with cute accessories and amazing candles! The back of the Liberty store is a spin studio with a great selection of athletic clothing to wear to your next spin class!

Quality leather earrings, made right in Liberty. They have a gorgeous store connected to the headquarters in Liberty and also a great new store in the Plaza. They have amazing colors, unique styles and a comfortable wear.

Both in the Crossroads District and in the Plaza, this store has an amazing selection of handmade, thrifted and new goods that are perfect for your home. I have found many unique items for the new apartment from RE.

Shops local to home:

(Carroll, Ames, DSM areas)

A shop close to my heart, as my step-mom owns it! Goat milks soap and lotion products that have amazing scents, provide luxurious moisture and are the perfect gift! I always give soap and lotions for gifts every year. The goats are milked and the products are made right on the farm that I lived on in high school and where my parents are still living now!

My favorite place to shop for home decor local to home! Mrs. Glynn carries amazingly priced items that are perfect for so many decor tastes and styles. From kitchen goods to throw pillows, you are sure to find something new for your home during any visit.

Have someone in your life that loves to cook? This is the place to shop for them! A large selection of anything that you need for your kitchen in a freshly remodeled space. This is a can't miss!

A beautiful store next door to Cooks Emporium that carries great home items. The throw pillows are ultra comfy. They carry amazing stationary. They even have some items for kiddos.

Super cute graphics, along with hats and other accessories. They also do custom screen printing for schools, businesses and more!

A favorite shop for my grandma, my sister and I to shop at. We stumbled across this shop on our way to Okoboji for a girls trip. This shop carries it all. Home decor, apparel, kids wear, jewelry, stationary and so much more. This is a must see shop!

Amazing clay earrings that are handcrafted in Des Moines. A very creative small business with amazing handiwork. These earrings are light weight, comfy to wear and unique to wear with many different outfits.

Thanks for reading along and don't forget to support your local and small businesses this holiday season!
